Service Desk Engineer

Jay joined Wessex IT in March 2025 as a Service Desk Engineer, and has been working in IT since 2017. He started out as an apprentice at a school in central London before making the move to the MSP world in 2019.

Over the years, he has gained hands-on experience with enterprise technology, taking part in major projects such as migrating legacy Exchange systems to Office 365, and helping 500 users transition to remote work during the first COVID-19 lockdown.

After managing the IT infrastructure of a school for a while, he’s excited to be back in the MSP environment, where he’s looking forward to taking charge of key support areas.

When he’s not solving IT challenges, Jay is just as tech-savvy at home — he has built all his own PCs and runs a home server for media storage and ad-blocking. His gaming time is split between sim-racing, where he’s got a full rig setup, and immersive RPGs like The Elder Scrolls — ignoring the main quest for as long as possible, of course!

Outside of tech, he’s outdoorsy, often out walking his bulldog through the countryside or heading into the woods for longer treks. He’s also a huge motorsport fan, especially the touring car championships, and enjoys planning road trips with friends — whether that’s a scenic drive through Somerset or a trip all the way to Germany!
